El Café

Only fully ripe cherries are handpicked by smallholder farmers and delivered the same day to the washing station.

At intake, cherries undergo strict sorting and flotation to ensure only the highest quality fruit is selected.

The coffee is then pulped and fermented for 12-24 hours, breaking down the mucilage and enhancing clarity in the cup.

After fermentation, the coffee is thoroughly washed with clean water and soaked for an additional 24 hours. It is then dried on raised beds for 7-14 days, where it is regularly turned and carefully covered during peak sun and at night to ensure slow, even drying.

This meticulous fully washed process results in a clean, vibrant cup profile with bright acidity, refined sweetness, and complex flavor expression.

El Proyecto

Grown in Kirinyaga County on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya, the Karimikui Coffee Project brings together over 2,500 smallholder farmers organized under the Rung'eto Farmer Cooperative Society.

At altitudes of 1,600-1,700 meters, farmers cultivate renowned varieties such as SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11, combining tradition with innovation.

Carefully handpicked ripe cherries are processed at Karimikui Factory using the fully washed method, including fermentation, washing, and slow drying on raised beds.

This meticulous approach ensures exceptional quality and clarity in every cup.

The result is a high grade Kenyan coffee, often classified as AA.
