Efrem Mulugeta Thegen studied in Cuba before establishing a 368ha farm in Kaffa zone, Decha Wordea, Gundira Shela Kebele. His vision has always been to produce the best coffee on which customers can rely for quality and traceability. He is also aware of his power on the socio-economic impact of coffee in the region,
so he works on women empowering projects and local infrastructure improvement. In 2016, the farm becomes an exporter farm and can sell their coffee directly to the final customer. After the cherries are harvested, they start drying on African beds under direct sun. they stir regularly to ensure a regular fermentation and fish on
a greenhouse providing shade. This also allows to protect the cherries form the high humidity of the Kaffa region.
